Season 1 - Recap and honorable mentions

Updated: Aug 28, 2021

Oh boy. What a season this was. GP1 finished its first season with a bang! On August 1st 2021 we had the awards ceremony to honor all the special performances and all the special people who helped make this all happen. Also we received a glimpse of what is to come next season which is starting very soon on August 8th with the first race. I think it is only fair to say a huge thank you firstly to our fantastic racers - regardless if they have any points or none - regardless if they are ranked or unranked - but a huge thank you to all fantastic people who make this happen.

There is someone though who might have gotten short of enough thank you and praise and I will start with that fantastic individual.

Thank you Noelle!

Noelle has done an amazing job every race day by organizing the whole broadcast and filming every single race regardless if she was sick or didn't feel good or wanted to sleep in or needed a day off. She stood her ground and gave it her all to broadcast each race for everyone of the fantastic viewers and subscribers so a huge thank you to Noelle!

Since we are at the people you don’t see or hear a lot from - another fantastic person is Luke’s

right hand girl Milly D Imp. She helps him oversee the race and be a better judge of situations and decisions during the race and making sure everyone drives by the rules without violations in their “death star” tower. She also does this every single race and deserves a huge thank you for her work for the GP 1 League. Thank you Milly!

Of course one should not forget that there would be no races without the league owner Luke Carmona, he literally busts his back to make this happen and it seems to be working whatever he is doing. We are after all having a season 2! So a huge thank you to Luke whom you can see for a change in a suit not in his usual racing ger when he is in the “death start” tower with Milly overseeing the race. Thank you Luke for making this happen and going on for future better and more exciting seasons to bring us the perfect sports entertainment from sl right into peoples livingroom.

Of course those of you who watched or are following racing there are always two winners. The teams and the drivers. The very first season went to LCR (Luce Cremona Racing), who won the Team Championship by quite a bit of a lead - especially thanks to drivers Little Bear and Emmy Blooburry, who performed with incredible consistency through the entire season.

Another huge shoutout goes of course to Longfall Racing. They have on

also started only around the first quarter of the season but performed amazingly and surprised everyone with his consistency and outstanding performance for APC. For the coming season we have some of the old teams prevailing and some new ones coming up as well to bring you new racers with new performances which will be super exciting and styrr up a lot of dust and steam on the roads.

Of course there is one thing missing. You guessed it. The drivers championship. One driver didn't make it into the top 3 but they did perform outstandingly, especially since they did not race the whole season but ranked very high. Fabian Lytton from XSR. Earlier I mentioned the astonishing performance of Edu Velde for team APC. He started around the first quarter of the season and in the last race because he scored that one victory

he made it to the 3rd place in the season championship. Now we all are very

curious about his performance next season when he starts from the beginning. Congratulations you two for being super entertaining to watch on the tracks and performing so amazingly for your teams. Of course you can’t disregard Eli Bennetts dominance on the track. That guy races amazingly and got super close to winning this season's drivers championship, but sadly didn't get it probably because only one small mistake in the last two races. Someone who also deserves a lot of recognition because she only drove four races - Candy Tomorrow. That girl surprised everyone coming out of the AM league and moving up the ranks super quickly and we are curious to see how she will perform this season for team Hiss. I know I'm saving the best for last. Little Bear our champion. His consistency to rank each race in the top 5 was amazing. Race after race even if he was on the podium or not but he did perform amongst the top 5 and has proven you do not need to always win or have the most wins to be a champion. Congratulations Little Bear!

All in one this season was packed with many exciting moments, full of emotions, rivalry and fun moments. We have seen some of the nicer sides of racing and some of the less nice sides along with the “lucky shots”. Also it has taught every driver a lesson that your strategy matters a lot, probably more than many give it credit. What is season 2 going to bring? If i told you now it would be a total spoiler alert but i can tell you this much: GP1 is switching to the 2nd gen cars which will allow the drivers more individuality for the races and we might see some huge surprises with those cars where the drivers have more freedom to drive how they prefer to drive. But in order to know you have to be there! Like, follow, subscribe to the channel and be part of it!
